Diana's time with RCA contrasted with Allison Iraheta's Jive experience

In a recent article written by James Montgomery and Jim Cantiello of MTV News, Diana's time with RCA Records was contrasted with the experience American Idol fourth-place finalist Allison Iraheta is now having with the release of her debut album Just Like You. Below is a snippet of what the article had to say about Diana:

One of the youngest — and most talented — "Idol" contestants, she was inked to RCA Records in 2004 and released Blue Skies, a glossy pop album she had little creative control over (in a recent interview, she complained that RCA ignored her suggestions about songwriting partners almost entirely) and one that effectively ended her career. It debuted at #52 on the Billboard 200, then, without the benefit of a hit single, quickly disappeared. Nearly five years later, it has sold fewer than 200,000 copies, and DeGarmo is starring in an off-Broadway production of "The Toxic Avenger."

The article went on to quote Allison as saying she had more input in the songs that made it onto her album, which was much different than the situation Diana was in as a young artist, which she recently spoke of candidly in an interview on WithJosh.com.
